Gabriel scored the game-winning goal against Fulham, extending Arsenal’s unbeaten start to the Premier League season.
The defender lost possession on the edge of his own box, allowing Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic to score.
After Martin Odegaard equalized with a deflected strike, Gabriel redeemed himself in the 85th minute with a scrambled finish from close range.
In added time, goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale made a crucial save to deny Fulham’s Nathaniel Chalobah an equalizer.
Despite being frustrated for much of the game by the visitors, Arsenal maintained their 100% start to the season and remained top of the table.
Mikel Arteta’s side dominated possession and created numerous chances, with Odegaard, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and Gabriel Jesus all going close before Mitrovic stunned Arsenal with the opener.
Substitute Eddie Nketiah came on for Arsenal shortly after Arteta’s side fell behind, and after the impressive Odegaard equalized, Gabriel thumped the ball home after a scramble following a corner.
The result ends Fulham’s unbeaten start to life in the Premier League, while Arsenal cements their position as a rising force under Arteta.
