Mr Denis Njeru, the Assistant Chief for Kiamugumo Sub-Location in Kirinyaga East Sub-County, has been killed by his wife.
Ms. Wanjiru Njeru, the dead mother and a nominated Member of the County Assembly (MCA), stated the wife stabbed the husband to death in the kitchen at around 10 p.m. under unknown circumstances.
The 36-year-old newly hired boss shared a home with his mother.
“Around 10 p.m., we heard my daughter-in-law crying that she had stabbed her husband in the kitchen by accident.” ‘When we arrived at the residence, we discovered Njeru screaming on the floor with blood streaming from a new stab wound,” the mother explained.
Police have detained the wife and are questioning her.
Paul Murage, a resident of Kathata village in the same Sub-county, startled the nation when he admitted to murdering his entire family with an axe.
Murage, who murdered his wife and four children on November 29, has yet to enter a plea.
He has been remanded in custody at Kerugoya G K Prison until January 24th, when he is scheduled to enter a plea, despite the fact that the five victims have yet to be buried.
