Auditor General’s report shows that Council of Governors (CoG) disbursed Sh2.1 billion expenditures over the past three years.
The body which is established under the Intergovernmental Relations ACT consists of the elected Governors of the 47 counties.
The report of its expenditure which was tabled last week in parliament shows that the body inflated the cost of leasing eight floors at Delta House in Westlands, Nairobi by more than 40% per square feet.
In a report published by Business Daily the Auditor General is quoted saying; “the valuations undertaken by the ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development indicates that the rental values of Sh100 per square feet but the rental charges to the CoG were at a rate of $1.40 per square feet which is 40 per cent above market rates.”
