National assembly minority leader John Mbadi has proposed a bill that seeks to have pension pay for former MPs raised from Sh.33, 000 per month to 100,000. This will apply for former MPs who have served between 1984 to 2001.

The former MPs will enjoy a lump sum of Sh2.7 billion as retirement benefits and the monthly 100,000 according to proposals of the bill.

Already the National assembly Finance and national planning Committee chaired by Kipkelion East MP Joseph Limo has supported the bill.

Former legislators who served after 2002 receive at least Sh. 120,000 monthly.
