Azimio, Hustler CSs Expected To Resign

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Cabinet Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and other high-ranking government officials are set to resign by February 9 in order to pursue their political future. 

According to the law, Independent Elections and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) requires public officials to resign at least six months before the election. 

Their resignation will lead to a massive hole in his government, with a pool of Kenyan proffessionals said to be lining up to replace the hopeful.

Peter Munya, the Agriculture CS who served as Meru’s first governor, is also said to be interested in recpturing his lost seat.

Eugene Wamalwa, the Defense CS, has been extensively involved in Raila Odinga’s campaigns in western.

However, he has not declared interest in any parliamentary position. 

Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yattani (Ukur Yatani), is on a mission to reclaim the Marsabit gubernatorial seat he lost to incumbent Ali Mohamud Mohamed. 

Charles Keter, in charge of devolution, is set to vie for Kericho Senator seat, after losing to incumbent Chepkwony. 

Water’s Sicily Kariuki, is said to be eyeing the Nyandarua County governorship, while Health CS Mutahi Kagwe is under pressure to take up Nyeri gubernatorial seat.

Simon Chelugui, the Labour Secretary-General, who has been chastised for mistreating Kenyan workers in the Middle East, is seeking the Baringo governorship. 

CS in Petroleum and Mining John Munyes, who ran unsuccessfully against Governor Josephat Nanok in Turkana, will be up for a second try.

CSs who will be out to try their stab at politics include; John Mosonik, Petroleum Chief Administrative Secretary, (Bomet), Ps. Gideon Mung’aro (Kilifi) and Karanja Kibicho (Kirinyaga) and Ababu Namwamba (Foreign Affairs).
