Azimio MPs Storm Out As Treasury CS Presents Ruto’s First Budget

A section of Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Members of Parliament walked out of Parliament chambers as the Cabinet Secretary for National Treasury and Economic Planning, Njuguna Ndung’u began reading the FY 2023/24 budget.

In protest, the lawmakers jeered the CS and chanted songs before holding a press conference outside.

In the midst of the confusion, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula called the house to order.

Minutes after the CS mentioned that the budget was the first for President William Ruto and the Kenya Kwanza administration, the MPs staged a walkout.

Following the brief interruption, CS Ndung’u proceeded to highlight the Ksh3.6 trillion budget.
