Chris Kiptoo, the PS for National Treasury and Economic Planning, has expressed optimism that the budget statement, which will be delivered to the National Assembly today, will concentrate on important priorities aimed at enhancing living standards.
Speaking at a press conference in his office this morning before the parliamentary session that is expected to take place later this afternoon, he stated that the budget’s main goals are to cut costs of living and be based on realistic objectives in life.
Dr. Kiptoo claimed that despite the numerous economic shocks currently being felt locally and worldwide, as well as the unfavourable effects of climate change, the budget forecasts will continue to rise.
The theme of this year’s budget is “Bottom-Up Economic Transformation and Climate Mitigation / Adaptation for Improved Livelihoods of Kenyans”.
