Babu Owino Ranked Best MP In Nairobi

Babu Owino, Member of Parliament (MP) representing Embakasi East, has emerged as Nairobi’s best-performing legislator, with a 60% approval rating. 

Owino was closely followed by Westlands MP Timothy Wanyonyi (58%), Embakasi Central MP Benjamin Gathiru (56%), and Embakasi North MP James Mwangi (55%), according to Infotrak ratings released on Sunday, November 5. 

Francis Tom Joseph Kajwang, MP for Ruaraka, and John Kiarie, MP for Dagoretti South, both obtained 54% approval ratings. 

Embakasi West MP Mark Samuel Muriithi, Kasarani MP Ronald Kamwiko, and Embakasi South MP Julius Musili received 52% of the vote, while Langata MP Phelix Odiwuor and Dagoretti North MP Beatrice Elachi received 50%.

With a 66% approval rating, Igembe South MP John Paul, Mwingi Central MP Gideon Mutemi, and Kathiani MP Robert Mbui shared the lead in the Eastern Region.

Kitui Central MP Benson Makali came in second with 65%, followed by Chuka/Igambang’ombe MP Patrick Munene, Mwala MP Vincent Musyoka, and Kibwezi West MP Eckomas Mwengi with 63%.

Mwingi West MP Charles Ngusya had a 62% rating, as did North Imenti MP Rahim Dawood and Mbeere North MP Geoffrey Kiringa.

Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro was the highest-rated legislator in the Central area, with 70% approval.

Kangema MP Peter Irungu came in second with 68%, followed by Tetu MP Geoffrey Wandeto and Kabete MP James Wamacukuru, both with 65%.

Mukurweini MP John Philip Kaguchia received 61%, while Othaya MP Michael Wambugu received 62%.

Wanjiku Muhia of Kipipiri, Chege Njuguna of Kandara, Edward Muriu Wakili of Gatanga, and Michael Mwangi of Ol Jorok all received 58% votes.

Changamwe MP Omar Mwinyi emerged as the top-performing legislator in the Coastal area, with a 64% approval rating. Wundanyi MP Danson Mwakuwona received 63%, while Nyali MP Mohamed Ali received 58%.

Taveta MP John Bwire and Lungalunga Constituency MP Mangale Ndegwa Chiforomodo received 56% votes, while Kisauni MP Rashid Bedzimba and Ganze MP Kenneth Charo Tungule received 55% votes.

Mumias East MP Peter Salasya came in second with 64%, followed by Teso North MP Edward Kaunya and Kabuchai MP Joseph Majimbo, all with 63%.

Milemba Jeremiah, MP for Emuhaya, received 62%, while Titus Khamala, MP for Lurambi, received 61%. Bernard Masaka, MP for Ikolomani, and Martin Pepela Wanyonyi, MP for Webuye East, both received 60%, while Kimilili MP Didmus Wekesa Barasa and Kanduyi MP John Okwisia received 58%.

Homa Bay Town MP George Peter Opondo led the Nyanza area with a 66% approval rating. Charles Ong’ondo Were, MP for Kasipul, received 64%, while Mark Ogolla, MP for Uriri, received 61%.
