On March 24, the Kisii Court will proceed to Marani, the crime scene where baby Brighton Junior Sagini was attacked and his eyes gouged out.
The suspects, Pacifica Kwamboka, Rael Nyakerario, and Alex Ochogo, who face counts of causing grievous bodily harm, will be taken to the site as the hearing proceeds.
The three have appeared before Senior Resident Magistrate Christine Ogweno.
The hearing has already entered the last stretch, with two detectives testifying today, Friday, March 17, 2023.
Two additional witnesses are scheduled to testify next week.
Baby Sagini, three years old, has subsequently placed the grandmother at the scene of the crime during the last hearing last week. He successfully identified his grandmother as the perpetrator.
On December 13, 2022, Sagini was waylaid on his way back from the river.
During a hearing on Friday, senior detective Joseph Mburu from the Nairobi DCI headquarters described how they wrestled Pacifica Kwamboka from a mob baying for her blood at Kilometer Moja Station.
Kwamboka was apprehended by members of the public on the estate where her daughter was residing and frog-matched to the station where a crowd threatened to lynch her.
Mburu said he was ordered to quickly whisk her back to Kisii where she is facing charges.
The case proceeds in courts.
