A Bahraini individual carrying Sh110 million at the Jomo Kenyatta International airport was intercepted by Kenya Revenue Authority custom officers.

KRA stated that it intercepted a traveller named Khalid Jameel Saeed who was planning to fly to Bahrain on Egyptian Airlines.

Officials apprehended the foreigner as he attempted to board an Egyptian Airlines flight, based on information provided by the Financial Report Centre (FRC).

When asked where he got his money, the foreigner allegedly said it was for work he had done.

The individual had attempted to bank the money earlier in the day but had been unsuccessful, according to detectives. As a result, he dashed to the passenger terminal to catch a flight out of the nation.

The cash was suspected of being the proceeds of money laundering.

After spending the night in police cells, the foreigner was freed on Friday, January 28.
