The late Alex Murimi Nderi popularly known as DJ Lithium was buried on Friday in an emotional send-off ceremony attended by family, friends and colleagues from Capital FM.
DJ Lithium died on January 27 after collapsing at his workplace. He was aged 34.
He was laid to rest in Mugwambogo village, Kathunguri sub-location, Kyeni division in Embu County.
Although his death brought a huge debate on the mental wellness of men in Kenya, the family requested privacy to honor his memory.
The prolific DJ was a regular figure in Nairobi’s afrohouse clubs and interacted with his fans in a jovial way.
His death was a blow to the Capital FM fraternity, who mourned him as a great talented man.
“Alex was a great addition to the larger Capital FM team, encompassing great talent as a dj, producer and possessed an interesting ”right wing” sense of humour,” Danny Munyi, Capital FM’s Programmes Director said.
“To honour him we will celebrate him for the passion he had for this company, his direct breakfast team, his fellow mixxmasters and cherish the moments we shared with him.”
