The tourism ambassador Najib Balala said that the government offered Eric Omondi the ambassadorial role. He went on to say that Eric was lying and the only thing he got from Eric was an email requesting him for a meeting. – By Stephanie Mwangi.
This comes a week after Eric claimed in an interview at Radio maisha where he said he also wanted to be an ambassador for magical Kenya but he should be paid because the government has money.
The CS said it is not true; “Yes I have seen an email he sent to my office requesting for a meeting but he did not specify what the meeting was all about .I receive hundreds of emails from people requesting to be tourism ambassadors.” Said Balala.
In January Najib Balala appointed Naomi Campbell to be the Magical Kenya International Tourism Ambassador .the move was meant to promote Kenyan tourism abroad and to also fortify the domestic market and not take anything away from it.
People went on to question why they didn’t appoint Lupita and he said, “I know everyone is asking why not Lupita .But Lupita has commitments and her managers cannot allows us to access her. We’ve spent the last five years looking for her.”
In response to the claims she tweeted a picture of her laughing ironically to the claims that the tourism sector has been looking for her for 5 years. And Ezekiel called her out for disrespecting her elders.
