Bare Sahara Ahmed has been detained for 10 days following a court order issued at the Kahawa Law Courts as investigations into an alleged inciting viral video continue.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) obtained the custodial order from the Chief Magistrate’s Court, allowing detectives to hold the respondent at Kilimani Police Station to facilitate ongoing inquiries.
According to investigators, the detention will enable completion of investigations into alleged hate speech and ethnic incitement linked to the widely circulated video.

The court further authorised forensic examination of digital evidence, including call data records and financial transactions, as part of the probe.
Authorities say the move is aimed at strengthening investigations into offences that may threaten national cohesion and public order.
The DCI has urged members of the public to exercise restraint in their communications and avoid content that could incite division or hatred as investigations continue.
