Baringo Insecurity: 300 Cows Stolen By Armed Bandits

One person has been injured, and over 300 cows stolen from a village in Tiaty’s Paka Hills in Baringo North.

The heavily armed criminals struck around 12 p.m. on Wednesday, while the cows were grazing. They began shooting indiscriminately, causing herders to flee.

Police who confronted the thieves in a gun battle were defeated as the criminals fled with the booty.

Residents of Tiaty in Loruk have since closed their businesses for fear of retaliation.

The raid follows five days of prayers organized by first lady Rachel Ruto to intercede for the restoration of peace in six counties.
