Poland Keeper Suffers Injury, A Week To World Cup

According to Italian media, the 25-year-old may have fractured his ankle during the fight.

Poland international goalkeeper Bartomiej Dragowski suffered an ankle injury in Spezia’s Serie A match against Verona on Sunday, therefore ending his World Cup before he ever boarded the aircraft.

Dragowski had been named to Poland’s roster for the Qatar competition, but he was stretchered off the field in tears three minutes before halftime after attempting to tackle Kevin Lasagna.

According to Italian media, the 25-year-old may have fractured his ankle during the fight.

Dragowski has two caps for Poland and would have been behind fellow Italian-based goalkeepers Wojciech Szczesny and Lukasz Skorupski in the Polish pecking order.
