A 17-year-old boy nicknamed Bibi ya OCS, is among Five teenagers who have been arrested in connection with robberies in the posh Nyali neighbourhood of Mombasa.
Detectives apprehended the group after rescuing one of its members from a crowd that was about to lynch him.
The Mtwapa-based crime fighters rescued Bakari Juma Saidi alias Abu, a 19-year-old man suspected of being involved in many robberies in the Kadzandani region.
Bakari was saved from the clutches of an enraged mob, leaving him with life-threatening injuries.
While transporting him to the hospital for treatment, the investigators gathered critical information that led them to the suspect’s accomplices in the Kiembeni Bobo region, where more arrests were made.
David Juma aka Devido aged 19, an ex-convict of Shimo La Tewa prison, Marriam Ali aged 18, Kamanzi Kikoba aged 18 and a 17-year-old juvenile locally known as Bibi ya OCS, married to a notorious wanted criminal known as Ali alias OCS.
The suspects were booked and are facing various charges ranging from robbery, stealing and assault.
