Bishop Wallace Ng’ang’a Officially Welcomed as Military Ordinariate Leader

Rt. Rev. Wallace Ng’ang’a was officially received as the new Bishop-Elect of the Military Ordinariate of Kenya.

Upon his arrival, Bishop Wallace was greeted with a bouquet of flowers presented by members of the Pontifical Missionary Childhood (PMS). In a heartfelt gesture, he kissed the ground at the entrance, deeming it “holy ground.”

The Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Nairobi, Most Rev. Philip Anyolo, introduced Bishop Wallace to the Military Ordinariate, highlighting the importance of this appointment for both the Church and the Kenyan Defence Forces (KDF).

“Your pastoral care will be vital,” Archbishop Anyolo proclaimed, emphasizing the role Bishop Wallace will play in providing spiritual guidance and sacramental ministry to military personnel and their families.

General Charles Kahariri, Chief of the Defence Forces, welcomed the new bishop, noting, “Your arrival marks a pivotal moment for us.” He expressed gratitude for Bishop Wallace’s leadership, anticipating a transformative impact on the KDF community.

Bishop Wallace succeeds Bishop Alfred Rotich, who retired in 2016 after serving the Military Ordinariate.
