Bomet Woman Killed, Body Dumped In Maize Plantation

A woman was found murdered in an incident that left villagers in Bomet County in shock.

The 38-year-old woman is believed to have been gang-raped before being killed and her body dumped in a maize plantation on the outskirts of Tembwo trading center, Sotik-Sub county, Bomet.

Sotik sub-county police chief Francis Ng’anga believes she was raped before being strangled by her abductors as the woman’s body had no physical injuries.

Residents identified the deceased as Janet Chebet, a mother of four who worked as a casual worker at Tembwo Trading Center and was last seen with a male friend who has yet to be identified.
