Marathon legend Brigid Kosgei has shattered records once again, after an impressive run at the Abbot Marathon Majors in Tokyo.
Brigid Kosgei returned to form with a 2:16:02 time (both a course record and a Japanese soil record), leading from start to finish.
Ethiopian Gotytom Gebreslase stayed with Kosgei for 37 kilometers before dropping off.
Sara Hall, the American half-marathon record holder, was in the mix early on but found the pace of the front pack too fast.
