Social media personality and Basketball Wives star Brittany Renner has confirmed that her whirlwind marriage to rapper Kevin Gates has come to an end just 52 days after tying the knot.
Speaking during an interview on Los Angeles radio station REAL 92.3 LA on Friday, June 7, Renner, 33, disclosed the brief timeline of the union: “We got married April 6 and divorced May 28.” Despite the short-lived marriage, Renner emphasized she has no regrets.
“All is well,” she reassured listeners, adding, “I don’t feel like it’s a sucky situation because what is meant to be is always going to be.”
Renner, who recently embraced Islam, expressed that the decision to marry Gates, 39, was made with sincerity and full commitment. “I followed my heart, and that’s what more than most people can say,” she said. “When you do that, you get all the clarity you need… I gave 100 percent.”
The split comes just weeks after Renner had publicly expressed deep admiration for Gates, telling PEOPLE in May that he was “the most beautiful person inside and out” she had ever met.
Both Renner and Gates have not issued any further public statements, and inquiries to their representatives went unanswered as of Sunday, June 8.
Renner shares a four-year-old son with Dallas Mavericks forward P.J. Washington, with whom she was previously in a relationship.
Despite the brief marriage, Renner remains at peace with her decision, saying, “A lot of people don’t give it their all… but I feel like when you do, you’re at peace with whatever happens.”
