A family in Embakasi constituency is mourning the death of a butchery attendant as Policeman, KDF officer exchanged fire over a woman.
The two police were alleged to be in a love triangle and squabbling over a lady when the incident occurred.
The butchery attendant, identified as Charles Karugu, was killed while attempting to protect the KDF officer from a rogue Administrative Police (AP) officer.
On the evening of Sunday, May 30, the two were arguing at the butchery when the incident happened.
“When he came back, he had a gun. The KDF officer was still at the scene speaking to some people. Upon realizing that the AP guy had a gun and that he had cocked it, he ran into the butchery to seek refuge,” the owner of the butchery told journalists.
The butchery employee is said to have been shot while closing the door to protect a KDF officer who was already inside the business.
The deceased suffered significant injuries to his arm and chest and was left bleeding on the bench before being pronounced dead when an ambulance came.
