Cardinal Otunga High: 18 Students Suspended Over ‘Lesbianism’

Cardinal Otunga Girls High School in Bungoma County has expelled 18 students for allegedly possessing mobile phones and engaging in lesbianism.

According to a report by Citizen, the students were later summoned for a disciplinary hearing on September 28.

The parents also state that the school has asked them to accompany their children home on an indefinite suspension. They were instructed to wait for further communication from the board on an unspecified date.

Another parent claims that his daughter was accused of lesbianism during the hearing for ‘dancing inappropriately’ during an entertainment session.

“They had weekend entertainment and were dancing.” “Has the ministry established guidelines for how students should dance?” he inquired.

According to sources, nearly 14 of the suspended students are part of four candidates who will take national exams in the coming weeks.

The indefinite suspension has put the parents in a difficult position, as they are unsure whether their daughters will take the national exams.

“We are perplexed and disturbed by the school’s relocation. “Our students are subjected to deep psychological torture; they have been subjected to shame and uncertainty,” a parent said.
