Catherine Kasavuli, a pioneer newscaster, is being buried at her rural home in Zululu village, Vihiga County.
Her final farewell will be held at Tigoi Primary School, followed by burial at her family home.
The burial is expected to be attended by a number of prominent leaders.
Among the leaders who have arrived at Kasavuli’s home is Azimio deputy presidential candidate Martha Karua.
Kasavuli’s friends and family gathered on Thursday for a memorial service at the Friends Church on Ngong Road.
Kasavuli, 60, passed away on December 29, 2022 at the Kenyatta National Hospital after a long battle with cervical cancer.
