The iconic Museve Shrine in Kitui will be consecrated next week. – By Madellene Kalunda.
The latest Catholic Shrine will be opened to the public after 25th March. It is an ultra modern Shrine that will attract pilgrimages from all over Kenya.
It is located at the scenic Museve Hills, the highest point in Kitui by altitude.
The Shrine was build by the faithful of the Catholic Diocese, their friends and associates and the leadership of Kitui County.
It will host a monastery for monks, a recreational center for the youth and elderly among other religious functions.
It was the brainchild of Nyeri Archbishop Anthony Muheria, who oversaw the construction of the shrine during his time as the Bishop of Kitui.
The Covid-19 pandemic delayed the completion of the Shrine. However, leaders have pledged to uphold COVID-19 guidelines from the ministry of health.
