Charlene Ruto, President William Ruto’s daughter, assisted Murang’a Deputy Governor Stephen Munania in planting coffee seedlings at a two-acre demonstration farm in the county on Friday.
“We got to see different types of coffee beans produced in the ever so robust Muran’ga County during this visit,” Charlene said in a tweet after the session.
Charlene also mentioned that she enjoys interacting with the youth who joined them during the coffee planting drive.
“My joy came from interacting with young people who joined us as we mobilized them to embrace coffee farming,” she explained.
“We discussed the creation of income generating opportunities in the coffee industry without waiting for white collar jobs & shared on the Coffee Value Chain in Agriculture.”
Charlene has branded herself as a champion for youth employment and environment conservation.
