The late former KANU-era cabinet member Joseph Kamotho’s son has been charged in Milimani Law Courts with falsification in order to deprive his siblings of their late father’s multibillion-dollar wealth.
Charles Githi Kamotho appeared before Chief Magistrate Wendy Kagendo and disputed the criminal allegations brought by the Director of Public Prosecutions against him.
He denied forging a doctor’s report and claimed in court that his sister Marianne Nyokabi Kamotho was of unsound mind and hence unable to be estate administrator.
According to the charge sheet,”On October 12, 2015, at an unknown location within the Republic of Kenya, with intent to deceive, fabricated a medical report for Marianne Nyokabi Kamotho purporting to be a legitimate medical report produced and signed by Dr. Mucheru Wangombe,”
Kamotho is accused in count two with presenting a falsified medical report to the Deputy Registrar of Milimani High Court in succession suit number 108 of 2017.
Githi was arrested and charged after the DCI forensic team discovered that the doctor’s note was fake.
Githi requested fair monetary bail, claiming that the case is civil in nature and that no money or property was lost.
However, the magistrate granted him a bond of Ksh 300,000 or cash bail of Ksh 150,000.
