Civil servants who have not been inoculated against the Covid-19 virus must do so by August 23 or face disciplinary action.
Joseph Kinyua, the Head of the Public Service, cautioned the group that appropriate action would be taken against them.
All civil servants will be prioritized in the ongoing vaccination campaign, according to Kinyua, and those who have not received the first immunization by August 23 will be reprimanded.
In a document, he stated that low vaccination uptake had been detected among public officials, particularly in the security sector, teachers, and the core civil service, despite the fact that vaccine access had considerably improved across the categories.
He went on to say that some public employees have purposefully delayed getting vaccinated in order to avoid going to work under the excuse of working from home, which has harmed public service delivery.
Some Kenyans have expressed reservations about coronavirus immunizations. This has had an impact on the overall uptake of the product.
