Coast Based Singer Ally B Dies After Short Illness

Ally B, a musician based in Mombasa, has died.

According to his brother Mohammed Ramadhan, the singer died on Wednesday afternoon at the Coast General, Teaching and Referral Hospital in Mombasa.

Ally B arrived home in the afternoon, according to Mohammed, and stated that he was not feeling well.

“We took him to Makadara, but he did not make it,” he went on to say.

Ally B is best known for her hit songs like as Maria, Mkufu Wangu, Bembea, Kadzo, Naona Raha, and Ziki La Nazi.

In 2017, Ally B, real name Ali Khamisi Mwaliguli, ran for a Member of the County Assembly position in Junda Ward in Kisauni, Mombasa county, on a Jubilee party ticket. He was defeated by Musumba Raphael Bwire of the ODM Party.

He, however, challenged the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission’s results, claiming that they were rigged.

The musician is also known for leading peace initiatives in the coastal city, particularly in Kisauni.
