Ugandan dancer Tenge Tenge recently faced heavy criticism, especially from Kenyans, after a controversial video emerged of him spitting water on Kenyan content creator Bradley Mtall, popularly known as the Gen Z Goliath.
The clip, which was part of content creation for Dubai tycoons, the Zam Zam brothers, sparked outrage among Kenyans, who found the act degrading, particularly as it involved one of their beloved personalities.
The backlash was swift, with many labelling the video as disrespectful and distasteful.
Since the incident, Tenge Tenge has returned to Uganda and has now addressed the uproar surrounding the video.
Taking to social media, the comedian offered a heartfelt apology, clarifying his intentions and emphasising his respect for Bradley.
“Dear Kenyans, Bradley is like an elder brother to me and my best Kenyan friend. I would never intentionally disrespect him by spitting water in his face (as seen in the video). Both Bradley and I were creating content that was neither directed nor scripted. I’m sorry if it offended you in any way; that was never my intention, nor was it my idea. Thanks for the support. I sincerely apologie for the mistake. Always remember I love you,” Tenge Tenge wrote.
He acknowledged that the content was not scripted and hence it might have been misunderstood, assuring fans that there was no malice intended.
Bradley also acknowledged the apology posting it on his social media platforms.
