A police officer has been detained hours after shooting and injuring a patron in a pub in Nairobi’s Kasarani neighbourhood.
On Wednesday, the cop was armed when he got into a fight with the victim.
According to witnesses and the victim, the two fought over unspecified matters before the cop pulled out his revolver and shot the man in the leg.
He then fled the area before being tracked down and apprehended shortly later. The two were among tens of revellers at the bar at the time of the incident.
The cop was later disarmed and taken into custody in preparation for his scheduled arraignment.
Police said they’re questioning the officer.
