Corporate titan names IKM Advocates Partner

Kamami Christine Michira has been appointed a partner of Iseme, Kamau and Maema advocates. An Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Certified Public Secretary CPS(K) and  Certified Trainer in Corporate Governance, Kamani holds Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Bachelor of Laws degrees (LLB) from the University of Nairobi. 
 
Kamami is a highly rated legal practitioner with over 20 years post qualification experience having successfully led some of the most significant transactions in the East African market. She has worked in both the public and private sector, including senior roles with the Capital Markets Authority and more recently as Head of the Finance Practice at Coulson Harney LLP (Bowmans, Nairobi).
 
In addition to her deep expertise and understanding in equity and debt capital markets, Kamami has handled transactions and provided advice in traditional areas of structured finance and debt restructuring, regulatory matters such as licensing and compliance audits. Kamami has advised leading corporations in the region in the emerging segments of fintech, payment systems, cryptocurrency, e-money, and e-commerce.
 
Kamami is one of the first people certified by the Centre for Corporate Governance as a trainer and her ongoing involvement in governance training and board evaluation gives her valuable insights into the strategic considerations of businesses which informs her counsel.
 
In addition to supporting and advising clients, Kamami will focus on the development of and training in new practice areas within the firm. She will also join in on one of the Firm’s CSR programs in collaboration with DLA Piper known as the IKM Foundation and Head Start Africa Education Program, which is a program whose objective is to break down barriers and promote inclusion through providing academic and professional advancement opportunities for students from lower socioeconomic.
