Three individuals, including a couple, were killed in Homa Bay on Sunday night after a downpour lashed the region.
At Aluor Village, Lambwe East in the Suba North constituency, a 34-year-old man and his wife were struck by lightning and killed, but their two daughters managed to flee.
Benard Ouma, Chief of Lambwe East Location, said that the couple was watching television when lightning struck, instantly murdering them.
According to Ouma, the lightning also severed electrical lines from a solar panel on their home’s roof.
The couple’s two girls, ages six and four, were found sleeping on the chairs the next morning after escaping the catastrophe.
