The Nyeri High Court has declined a request for one KDF Soldier Maj. Peter Mugure accused of murdering his wife & 2 children to represent himself in court.
The court also refused to grant the suspect bail pending hearing and determination of his murder trial.
“Lady Justice Florence Muchemi held that the accused had not adduced any new evidence to warrant his release on bail.” the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution said.
The High Court denied the accused’s request to be permitted to represent himself and to have his motor vehicle released since it is an exhibit, according to the Public Prosecution’s office.
The accused is facing 3 counts of murder of Joyce Syombua Maua, Shanice Mugure Mwaura & Peter Mwaura Junior on 26/10/2019.
