Court ‘Extends’ Maxine Wahome Stay In Remand

Maxine Wahome to remain in Custody until tomorrow when the Court is expected to give a ruling on whether to release her on a bond Pending the hearing and determination of her Murder allegation.

Lady Justice Lilian Mutende was to deliver a ruling on Wednesday, but adjourned it saying it was not ready.

“Kindly we cannot hear you. This case will be proceed on Thursday (March 30,2023) morning,” Justice Mutende said.

Maxine has been in police custody for almost three weeks after she was charged with the murder of Asad Khan on March 7,2023.

At the plea taking, the prosecution vehemently objected to her release on bond and or bail pending the hearing and determination of the murder case. The state informed the Court that Maxine would interfere with the witnesses if released on bond.

A move strongly attacked by her defense Lawyers led by Philip Murgor said that the state lacked any solid evidence and proof to show that Maxine would interfere with the witnesses.
