Covid-19: Cases in Kenya surpasses 1,000 mark as State imposes tougher restrictions


Kenya has recorded 66 new cases of Coronavirus bringing the total number of infections to 1,029 – By Prudence Wanza.


Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said out of the 66, 64 are from Mombasa while 2 are foreigners with 30 from Mombasa and 26 from Nairobi. Kajiado had 3 cases


Further, the government has extended the cessation of movement in and out Eastleigh and Mombasa’s Old Town area until June 6.


The Ministry of Health has received mobile laboratories from the East African Community(EAC) through the German Embassy which will help testing truck drivers at the border points.


One mobile lab will be stationed in at the Namanga border point and another one in Naivasha, EAC CS, Adan Mohammed said.
