COVID-19: Government surpasses 120,000 tests in new tally

While announcing the achievement today, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe continued to urge more Kenyans to take up the test, citing the need to identify those with asymptomatic conditions associated with the Coronavirus.

Out of the 133 new cases reported, Nairobi had 86 cases, Mombasa (27), Kiambu (7) and  Busia (5). Murang’a, Kilifi, Kajiado, Kilifi and Migori each two cases, while Machakos and Murang’a had one case.

In Nairobi, Westlands recorded the highest case load at (13), Embakasi (10), Makandara (9), Langata (8), Embakasi East (5), Roysambu (5), Starehe (4) among other subcounties.

In Mombasa Mvita led with (16), Kisauni (6) and Nyali had (3) cases.

40 more patients were discharged after recovering, bringing the number of those turned Covid-19 negative, to 1,326.

However, one more patient succumbed to COVID-19 raising the number of fatalities to 105.
