271 people have tested positive for the virus, from a sample size of 5,830 tested in the last 24 hours, bringing to 97,398 the number of confirmed positive cases in the country. The cumulative tests are now 1,070,249.
In terms of Counties; Nairobi led with (117) cases, Meru (44), Bungoma (21), Machakos (15), Kilifi (12), Busia (11), Nakuru (10), Mombasa (9), Kisumu (8), Homabay (5), Kiambu (5), Embu (4), Kajiado and Kisii (3) cases each, Kwale, Lamu, Migori, and Siaya reported (1) case each.
There are 588 patients admitted in various health facilities countrywide and 2,708 on Home Based Isolation and Care.
27 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 16 of whom are on ventilatory support and 9 on supplemental oxygen. 2 are on observation.
609 patients have recovered from the disease, 502 being from the Home-Based Care Program, while 107 have been discharged from various hospitals.
The total recoveries now stand at 79,966.
4 more patients have succumbed to the disease, pushing the cumulative fatalities to 1,694.
