Police in Trans Nzoia County have intensified their fight against illicit substances after seizing a consignment of cannabis during a patrol operation in Sabwani, Endebess Sub-County.
According to authorities, officers from Endebess Police Station were on routine patrol when they spotted a suspicious blue motorcycle with no visible registration number carrying two pillion passengers.
On noticing the police vehicle, the riders fled towards the Soymining area before abandoning the motorcycle.
During the chase, one of the passengers dropped a white 90-kilogram sack. Upon inspection, police found it contained two cartons, each holding a bale of cannabis sativa, wrapped in blue plastic bags.

The narcotics weighed approximately 20 kilograms with an estimated street value of KSh 200,000.
The drugs were escorted to Endebess Police Station and secured as exhibits. Police say efforts are underway to trace and arrest the suspects behind the trafficking attempt.
In a statement, the National Police Service reiterated its commitment to dismantling drug networks and urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report criminal activities.
