CRBC Works on Nairobi Green Bus park begin

The Nairobi Metropolitan Services has embarked on key works at the Nairobi Lunar Park, a recreational centre that was converted into a Bus Terminus.

A spot check by Uzalendo News revealed that NMS is currently laying the foundation as well as constructing a box culvert, part of the works at the Nairobi Green bus Park.

Once complete, Public service vehicles operating from Machakos, Mombasa, Ngong road, Lang’ata road, and Ongata Rongai will end their trips outside the CBD.

The Green Park Terminus is aimed at decongesting the City and pave way for efficient transport means within the CBD.

The land was acquired by the NMS from Kenya Railways for constructing a bus terminus. The bus terminus will be named Green Park bus terminus and will be serving PSVs operating Mombasa, Ngong, and Lang’ata Road.

“Changes that are coming are for good. We are in the process of reducing traffic flow with CBD and one way to ensure that is to ensure PSVs have bus terminus.” NMS Maj. Mohammed Badi said.

The renown contractor, China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) is undertaking the project as part of the larger Nairobi expressway works set to revolutionize transport in the capital.

CRBC is currently constructing the 27Km Nairobi expressway that runs from Mlolongo and terminates at James Gichuru.
