Cristiano Ronaldo In Talks With Manchester United Over Transfer

Manchester United is close to completing a spectacular deal to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo.

United has reportedly surged ahead of Manchester City in the hunt to recruit Ronaldo, according to multiple sources. On Friday morning, talks with Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, moved fast, albeit no agreement has yet been reached.

Ronaldo’s desire to leave Italy was revealed by Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri on Friday, with United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer paving the way for his return by saying, “He knows we are here.”

Ronaldo is in negotiations with Manchester City about returning to the Premier League. City sources have always been hesitant about signing the 36-year-old, and it now appears that United is the frontrunner.

According to club sources, the superstar, who left Old Trafford in 2009 after six highly successful years with the club he joined from Sporting CP, is getting closer to a contract.

If United manages to get Ronaldo, it will gratify their supporters, who were incensed by the prospect of the Portuguese star, who they hold in such high regard, joining their bitter rivals. Getting one over on City will also be a coup for United.
