Cabinet Secretary Hon Soipan Tuya received incoming Forestry Principal Secretary Mr Gitonga Mugambi and bade farewell to Mr Ephantus Kimotho
Hon Tuya welcomed the new PS and described the State Deptof Forestry’s priority activities, which include the 15 billion tree-growing and ecosystem restoration programme, during a brief handover ceremony held in the Ministry’s main boardroom at the NHIF Building.
The CS also wished Mr. Kimotho luck in his new position and praised him as a hardworking and conscientious leader who had started the flagship 15 billion tree planting campaign as well as reforms at the Kenya Forest Service (KFS) and Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI).
The handover ceremony was attended by the State Dept of Forestry’s Heads of Department led by Secretary of Administration Mr Isaiah Nakoru as well as the Ag Chief Conservator of Forests Mr Alex Lemarkoko of KFS, and KEFRI Director Dr Joshua Cheboiwo
