D-Day: Jowi Irungu, Jacque Maribe To Know Their Fate

Joseph Irungu alias Jowie, and his co-accused Jacqueline Maribe are today expected to know their fate in the murder trial of Kenyan businesswoman Monica Kimani in 2018.

At the closure of both the prosecution and the defense case, the lead prosecutor, Gikuhi Gichuhi, urged Justice Grace Nzioka to convict them, claiming the prosecution had proven their case beyond reasonable doubt with evidence and witness statements.

The prosecution alleges that Jowie was identified as the last person seen at Kimani’s house, and DNA analysis found Kimani’s blood on his shorts.

They also argue that Maribe conspired with Jowie to create a false robbery story to cover up the murder, citing the Government Chemist’s report and phone records.
