Through his Facebook page the comedian said he started feeling unwell and exhibiting symptoms associated with covid 19 on Friday before going for a test which turned positive.
“I got diagnosed with covid -19 now I am in quarantine and I believe I’ll get through this. thank you for all the support I have been receiving stay safe wear your mask and social distance” he wrote
His positive status comes days after a video of him online being attacked racially by a white man after he asked him to put his mask bask on which he took off during his ride.
The man got out of the car became verbally abusive towards David as his female companion watched David urged the man to keep doing what he was doing as he was recording
David relocated to the US in 2018 and has been working for a taxi company called lyft. In a press release by Lfyt they said that the passenger gas been banned and no racism will be tolerated
“there is no place for discrimination of any sort in the lyft community and this behavior is absolutely unacceptable we have permanently removed the rider from the lyft community and we will be in touch with the driver and offer our support”.
Unconfirmed reports also indicate that the man in question was fired by his employer after the incident
