Woman suffers wrath of tweeps after birthday post

A woman was subjected to social media trolling and hate after she posted on how much she misses her son who she gave up for adoption. – By Gerald Gekara

Palmer, a Twitter user was scorned by other users who were/are adopted after she wrote a hearty message for her on social media.

“The son I gave up for adoption is 47 yrs old today. I don’t know where he is, or how he is, and I will likely never know. But I think of him all the time—more so, as I age and become ever more aware of my own mortality—and I hope he is well and happy and, most importantly, loved.” palmer tweeted.

One Lathum who responded to her tweet condemned her for what she termed as neglect on her parenting duty.

“I was adopted at birth and I have no desire to contact my birth mother. I consider it an insult to my parents who were there for every tantrum, birthday, sick day, cheering on every success and failure. They are my parents, the other woman was merely a vessel.”

However despite the salty reactions to her post, some came out to congratulate her for not killing the baby at first, and constantly caring avout how he is.

“I hope and pray your paths will cross, but most importantly that he knows how much you care. We have two adopted boys and we pray every night for their birth moms and dads.” said one Mary.

Here in Kenya, the awful revelations of child trafficking brought to light how Kenyan babies suffer in the hands of selfish business men and women whose end goal is making a coin out of human life.

This exists without a well established framework of securing children born by street families, and abandoned children who are shipped to various children’s homes in the countries.

Child adoption has not really taken root in the country, with most cases being children bought from an actual over the counter agreement as opposed to the Child Adoption Act.

The result has seen several instances where children dissapear never to be found again.
