DCI Appeals For Help to Arrest Suspect Over Attempted Murder

Detectives at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are seeking the public’s assistance in locating 35-year-old Mary Mwende Kimwalu, a suspect in an attempted murder case that occurred on April 22, 2023, at Mihang’o Estate in Njiru, Kayole sub-county.

The case involves a brutal attack in which Mwende allegedly stabbed her ex-boyfriend three times on the chest using a kitchen knife after a heated argument.

Following the attack, Mwende disappeared from Kayole, meticulously covering her tracks to evade capture. She has since severed all communication with her family and friends, and has been avoiding places she previously frequented, making it challenging for the authorities to locate her.

The Immigration Department confirms that she has not left the country, and a warrant of arrest issued against her on May 13, 2024, remains in effect.

The police are appealing to anyone with information about Mwende’s whereabouts to come forward. Her family has also provided photos of the suspect, which have been released to aid in the investigation.

Additionally, the DCI has urged anyone with knowledge of Mwende’s whereabouts or any information that could assist in her capture is urged to report to the nearest police station, DCI office, or contact the #FichuakwaDCI hotline that is available 24/7 to ensure that justice is served.
