DCI Corners Baby David’s Killers

Detectives from the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested the suspected killers of baby David Ndung’u as they attempted to escape to Tanzania.

Phylis Njeri and her husband Jockson Ngui, who are accused of torturing the three-year-old boy to death, were smoked out of their hiding near the Kenyan-Tanzanian border at Illasit village on Wednesday.

According to the police, they started investigations after a social media post about baby David’s brutal murder went viral.

“Investigations were launched immediately, unearthing gory details of how David was brutally murdered,” DCI tweeted.

“The suspects were traced at their hideout in the remote village in Kajiado county, as they desperately sought to cross the Kenyan border to Tanzania,” the DCI stated.

“Baby David’s body had severe burns on both hands, legs and buttocks. It also had fresh injuries on the neck, the back and the face, signifying the amount of torture that the minor underwent, before his painful death.”

David and his six-year-old brother Peter had been left under the care of Njeri, by their mother Maureen Njoki, who had left the country in November 2021 for Saudi Arabia, in search of greener pastures.

Police also recovered a whip which was used to beat the deceased’s brother as the couple threatened him should he reveal what had happened to his brother.

The two have been transferred to Nairobi where they will face murder charges
