KeNHA, Coast Counties Vow To Enforce Axle load Regulations

Written By Henry Kimoli  📝

Kenya National Highways Authority(KeNHA) will partner with the County governments of Kwale, Kilifi, and Mombasa to ensure compliance with stipulated axle load limits.

Assistant Director in charge of Axle Load enforcement and Weighbridge Michael Ngala said the move will ensure transporters are helped to comply.

Ngala said the role of KeNHA is to facilitate business through improved road transport both nationally and inter-county.

He said the authority has engaged the Kenya Transporters Associations, Shipping agents, and logistics companies to ensure compliance.

He said so far, cooperation has improved between transporters and the road agency, and said compliance levels of up to 90 percent have been witnessed.

“I am happy to note that transporters have been very cooperative especially long-distance drivers.”
