DCI nabs Congolese businessman wanted for Gold fraud worth Ksh 9.8 Million

A Congolese national was yesterday arrested at JKIA by Detectives attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations unit.

In the joint operation aided by the office of Immigration Department, Mr. Ledivin Mupanga was nabbed on arrival from Ethiopia following a Stop Order that had been placed by Serious Crime Detectives.

The 41-year-old suspect has been accused of obtaining 97,500 US Dollars ( 9.8 Million Kenyan Shillings ) in March this year with the FALSE promise that he could purchase gold for the complainant before disappearing.

According to the DCI, the suspect is in lawful custody awaiting arraignment in court.
