The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has introduced its newest crime management equipment, which includes body cameras capable of recording incidents in real-time.
According to the DCI, the kits were purchased in response to numerous requests from netizens who follow them on social media.
A group of Kenyans applauded the move, stating that all policemen should be given the kits in order to reduce police brutality and restore sanity to the force.
A statement from the unit says that the sophisticated high-definition body cameras have infrared, night vision, and live streaming capabilities.
As a result, detectives will be able to showcase real-time activity as well as service delivery.
“They will form part of our crime management kit & will record real-time events as they unfold! This follows overwhelming requests from netizens, following us on our interactive social media pages,” the statement indicated.
The DCI revealed that Kenyans will see live-action depictions of investigators pursuing criminals and individuals on the DCI’s most-wanted list.
