Delivery Lady narrates shocking assault ordeal in Kibera Court

Olivier Akoth Osano was today arraigned in Kibera Law Courts and charged with assault and causing actual bodily harm.

The accused was before chief magistrate Joyce Gandani. The complainant, Georgina Achieng who works as a delivery lady in an ornament shop in Yaya Center, told the court that on February 2nd, 2020 she received a call from a client in Jamuhuri estate in Kibera.

‘A man from Jamuhuri estate in Kibera called me and ordered for chokers, necklaces, bangles, earrings and rings,’ said Achieng.

She went to deliver as usual but on arrival, she sensed something strange.

‘When I arrived the client directed me into his house and started showing me pictures of his wife and told me that he had been ordered by his wife to stoke me. I tried to talk to him about business but he threatened to beat me up,’ added Georgina.

Ms. Georgina tried to run away but she was tied down by the client and at once the accused together with the other three appeared from the bedroom and told her that she will learn her lesson. They pounced on her.

‘They jointly beat me, sustained a wound on the head and dislocated my right arm,’ Achieng explained to the court.

The accused however denied the charges and was released on Sh30, 000 bond with an alternative cash bail of Sh15, 000. The case will be heard on March 30th, 2020.
